On 17th June, Milwaukee-based indie folk duo Dead Horses welcomed their latest single, ‘Brady Street’ into the world. Formed of guitarist & singer Sarah Vos and bassist Daniel Wolff, Dead Horses released their debut album ‘My Mother the Moon’ in 2018 to critical acclaim, followed by their EP ‘Birds’ in 2020.
‘Brady Street’ turns a new page for the duo, signifying a fresher, more polished indie folk sound with country influences. Panned acoustic guitars greet you to start, beautifully mixed with a full sound, supporting specks of electric guitar weaved tastefully throughout. The tight and driving beat brings a relaxed yet nostalgic soft country sound, holding the humble double-tracked vocals.

Lyrically, the song is charmingly real, painted with moments of self-realization and anecdotal reflections. Pockets of self-observation hold hands with bigger epiphanic realizations - “someone sang you how to sing, and someone thought you how to think, we stood smoking cigs on Brady Street”.
‘Brady Street’ is the first single from Dead Horses’ upcoming album, ‘Brady Street’, which will be released on 12th August 2022. Listen to Dead Horses on Spotify.
